About Songbird Roots Singing Groups

Our Mission

At Songbird Roots, we are committed to providing children with the opportunity to create a positive affiliation with music. We believe that music has the power to inspire and uplift and we aim to instill confidence in children as they discover their talents.

Our Team

Valaura Arnold directed Mini Melody and Main Event for almost 20 years. She holds a Masters Degree in Vocal Performance and has shared her voice all over the world. From Jazz to Broadway, she has loved teaching others to find their voice.

Miquelle Shoemaker has been performing since she was 5 years old. She started right here, in these groups. She took music classes throughout college before graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology. Her experience ranges from musicals, choirs, solo performance & symphonies. She is proficient in a variety of musical instruments including piano, violin and guitar.

Directing and participating in these groups has had a lifelong impact. They want to bring them back so more kids can find their confidence and community in music.

Where Do Songbird Roots Students rehearse?

Songbird Roots is located in my home in Herriman Towne Center. We rehearse there weekly and then have a few performances in nearby retirement centers or festivals at the end of the semester.

What is tuition?

Tuition is $55 a month per child. We offer some amazing sibling discounts though so make sure to ask!

What are the different genres of music covered on Songbird Roots Singing Groups?

Songbird Roots Singing Groups covers a wide range of music genres, including pop, rock, hip-hop, country, jazz, and more. We strive to provide a diverse and inclusive perspective on music.

What time are rehearsals?

Songbird Roots will rehearse from 4:30pm-5:30pm on Thursdays. The start time is subject to change between semesters depending on availability. Once the semester starts, rehearsal start time will not change. Spring Semester is January-June and Fall semester is September-December.
